How To Take Horse Photos

By Virginia Wright

Having a set of photographs of your pets is something that most pet owners want. They can either have the photographs framed and used in decorating the home. Alternatively, they can just use the photographs as a souvenir that they can hold on to remind them of their pets. Here are some of the things to keep in mind when taking Horse photos.

Lighting is very important when taking photographs. The area needs to be well lit for clear and beautiful pictures. Areas that are lit by bright lights will result in photographs that are either over exposed or have harsh shadows. Improperly setting up the camera will also result in the over exposure and washing out of some areas in the photograph.

It is also important that you get the automatic cameras instead of depending on the manual ones. This is because with the automatic cameras you are not expected to balance a lot of settings and still get the best photographs. However, for an experienced and trained photographer, they can opt to get shots using the complex set of settings needed to operate the camera.

If possible, avoid using the flash as this tends to alter the coloring of the eye of the pet. It also alters the coloring of the pet coat by bringing out the textures and shading which would have been lost during an overcast day. However, you need not to constantly worry about using the flash function due to fear of causing red eye as the red eye is easily removed in the digital photos labs.

To ensure that the pets stay in place for the photograph, you need to have some supplies with you to help ensure it stays in place for example toys, helping hands. Treats sand patience. The level of training of the pet will also determine the ease at which the photographs are taken as the pets remains calm and cooperative.

In some photographs, you may require the pet to face the camera directly. This may prove to be a difficult task if one is not familiar with the pet. But as the owner, you can easily use treats to woo the pet into looking directly into the camera. As it is difficult to woo the pet and take the photograph, you are recommended to have someone else to help you out.

To add life to the photograph by showing animal expressions, you can use sound stimulation to achieve this effect. This involves using different and weird sounds to force a reaction on the animal. A few of the expressions by pets is cocking the head to one side, ear propping and brightening of the eyes. By using sounds, you are thus able to convince the pet into using expressions.

To get the best photographs from the session, you first need to ensure that the pet is completely relaxed and comfortable. Stressed and anxious pets are not willing participants in any photo sessions. For stubborn pets, it is best to have someone else handle the pet as one takes the photograph. Furthermore, the background can be easily removed. Thus the unnecessary parts can be removed.
